About
Katie Lane (b. 1994, Bethesda, MD) is a New England-based painter whose work explores ephemerality within both urban and rural landscapes, and the ways time, memory, and environmental change shape our perception of place. Her paintings consider the gradual entwinement of the natural and built environments—where growth, weathering, construction, and decay exist simultaneously.
In 2016, Lane graduated with her BFA from the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University. Since then, she has exhibited her work from the East to the West Coast and has been shortlisted for the Walter Feldman Fellowship. Her work has also been featured in publications and interviews including Friends of the Artist, YngSpc Gallery, Boston Voyager, and Studio Visit Magazine. She has worked with private collectors and institutions through commissioned projects, including Harvard Business School in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Lane currently works from her studio in Southern New Hampshire.
